Introduction to
Pastor Tim Bayer
& Family
I was raised in a Christian home in Cobourg, Ontario, which is about an hour east of Toronto. I prayed the prayer of salvation as a five-year-old, but I question whether I was truly converted at that time. I rebelled against the Lord as a teenager and into early adulthood, but the Lord drew me back to himself when I was in my first year of college.

I completed a yearlong program at a Bible school in Germany and returned to Canada with a renewed love for God, his word, and the church, and had a desire to teach others. I worked with youth at our church in Cobourg and at a Christian retreat center in Maryland, USA, for two summers. I completed a ministry internship there and worked full-time as an event coordinator. It was there that I met my wife, Laura, and we were married in 2017. I served as a youth pastor at a Southern Baptist church in Maryland and completed a Christian Ministry degree through Liberty University Online.
In 2020, our son Ethan was born, and we moved to Louisville, Kentucky where I studied at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, completing the Master of Divinity degree with graduate certificates in Greek and Hebrew exegesis in 2024. Our daughter Audrey was born in 2023. I accepted a call to pastor Grace Baptist Church of Ottawa, and we moved here in December 2025.
I enjoy reading, spending time with my family (especially in nature), and playing and watching sports. We’re excited to be here, to get to know our new church family, and to see how the Lord works in the coming years!
