ABOUR GBC OTTAWA
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Romans 12: 4 - 5
History
Grace Baptist Church held its first worship service on March 21, 2004 and was formally established with 53 charter members on May 30 of that year. In our early years, we met Sunday mornings in rented accommodations, first in the Travelodge Motel on Carling Avenue and from September 5, 2004 at the Palisades (now Villagia in the Glebe), a retirement residence on Metcalfe Street. In the evenings, we met for worship in people’s homes.

The Church has been a member of the Sovereign Grace Fellowship of Canada since 2006. We purchased our present facility at 2470 Huntley Street in 2010, and conducted our first service there on December 5. Our congregation includes people from all parts of Ottawa and the surrounding communities. Grace is committed to sharing the goods news about Jesus with the broader Ottawa area with a focus on the communities of Stittsville, Richmond, Munster and Kanata West with the message of the Gospel.
To this end, we have distributed tracts multiple times in our target communities and carry out a book tent ministry at Arts in the Park in Stittsville and at the Richmond and Carp fairs. We also held Vacation Bible Schools from 2014 to 2019 and 2022. We also contribute regularly to the Stittsville Food Bank.Today we look with gratitude to our past for all of those who worked and sacrificed to see this church started and nurtured during its early years and we look to God for the future, seeking His continued blessing and praying that He will continue to build His church in this place.
